2am. Paris

After a two hour delay in Bordeaux we have finally made it to Paris. As I write we are crossing the Seine and I can see the Eiffel Tower. Our hotel is somewhere in the north, near Montmartre and Eurostar. Should be there soon for a bit of a kip Posted via email from Phill’s [...]


So far, a hire car, two taxis and a coach have got us to a bizarre little town in France. Only some expert persuasion tactics from Becky (waterworks, drama, the full works) got us on this train as French railways are extra busy due to a strike. The 45 minutes spent stood in a queue [...]


Now we ‘just’ have to get to Paris – currently on a coach to the last town in NE Spain. Then hopefully on the 5 o’clock TGV train from the last station in SW France to Paris. Being stranded without a flight feels weird – like being stuck in a traffic jam; only one that [...]


So, were going to take the overland/undersea route. I’ve always wanted to do a bit of Inter railing across Europe bit this isn’t quite what I had in mind. Bus to Hendaye, train to Paris. Hopefully book a room online for Paris. Then Eurostar tomorrow (with a bit of luck) Then train from St Pancras [...]
